Job Description

    • Be involved in VAT matters including monthly customer Invoicing and VAT Returns Preparation
    • Lead VAT accounting, reporting in Dubai.
    • Act as a centre of excellence for VAT matters in MENA.
    • Establish strong working & professional relationships with both internal and external counterparts within Dubai, the Middle East Region, London (e.g. regulators, auditors, advisors, Global Operations Control Division – ‘GOCD’ and Financial Accounting Office - ‘FAO’). 
    • Co-ordinate the External Audit process for various Entities within the region.
    • Be Involved in the financial reporting to Head Office and the relevant Regulators (DFSA, QFCRA, Central Bank of UAE and Central Bank of Bahrain) on a monthly basis.
    • Assist in defining Head Office JGAAP & USGAAP reporting requirements & procedures in partnership with GOCD, London and FAO.
    • Assist in establishing a strong control framework to ensure that all reporting requirements are undertaken on a timely and accurate basis. 
    • Be responsible for analyzing and interpreting the Bank’s financial data and communicating this information to key stakeholders.
    • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Finance policies, procedures and internal control systems in the Middle East Region in order to ensure that the Bank’s assets are being fully optimized and safeguarded as well as to ensure uniformity, consistency, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting.
    • Enable the Bank to share best practices throughout the Middle East Region, and to recommend such practices to key stakeholders for consideration and implementation.
    • Assist in drafting workflows and applicable Finance procedures to ensure the smooth running of all developments and guidelines with a drive to continuously improve such procedures and guidelines.
    • Act as Culture carrier for the Bank in leading by example and with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
    • Be involved in ongoing global projects for the MENA region.
    • Act as a focal point for Internal and External reporting questions
    • Identify areas for Business process Reengineering/Improvement and lead the change
    Skills and Qualifications:
    • University Degree or equivalent with a Finance or Accounting major
    • Previous experience of working within an Accounting or Financial role (including reporting) within a similar organization in the Region
    • Audit experience desirable.
    • A good understanding of IFRS and Regulatory Financial Reporting requirements (ideally DFSA, CBUAE, CBB,  QFCRA, )
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Numerically competent
    • Financial Statements Preparation as per IFRS 
    • The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable, flexible and demonstrate own initiative and judgement to approaching tasks with excellent inter-personal and communication skills
    • Accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA
